Pressing vinyl independently is expensive–even for a short run. But there is something about having your songs on wax. So for me, having this solo project on vinyl is a bucket list thing that I just need to do. Will people buy it? I don’t know, and I am keeping my expectations modest.
Trip sa Field is a box set for the price of one vinyl. The package includes a 12-inch vinyl record, a CD version that has a different track listing, and a ” CD mix tape” full of rare cuts and demos from my previous bands. It’s a way of looking back at a chapter of my musical journey and then adding a bow and tie to close it.
While the vinyl and CD track listings are final, the tracks in the “cassette mix tape” are still to be determined. But I recently uncovered some cassette tapes containing Freesouls demos, live radio station performances, and rehearsal takes. Likewise, some unreleased songs never found an outlet, until this project.
Anyway, I am just thrilled to get this out and move forward. I am not really keen on looking back that much. I am always about here and now.
